TERATOTERA represents a community-based arts and cultural activities program as well as the organization that provides it. The program principally extends to the areas between Koenji station and Kokubunji station on the JR Chuo Line, and is a joint effort of Tokyo Metropolitan Government and Arts Council Tokyo with Kichijoji-based Ongoing, a general incorporated association which focuses on art in the present.
The TERATOTERA Festival is a large-scale city exhibition which has been held once a year since 2011. The festival is packed with events from art exhibitions to performances and live music. This year the festival is due to take place over three days between November 21st and 23rd, 2015 in vacant stores and other spaces, in the area around Mitaka station as in the previous year. Young artists will hold exhibitions and more under the theme “SPROUT.”
