“MAKILALA: to Know, Meet and Dance” is back!
Last year’s popular “MAKILALA” event, which came about through exchange and interaction with the Filipino community, is back for another party and video installation. Please stop by Senju for both events!

Party: "Filipa-pi-po!!" Part 2

When it comes to parties, it’s all about Filipinos – from music to food, decorations and the warm hospitality which involves everybody around. So we will throw a party in MAKILALA way inspired by all of their essenses of enjoying the parties. All welcome!

This year’s theme is “A Midsummer Ocean’s Dream”
Dress code is “Orange”, “Yellow” and “Blue” which imaged summer and sea!

Video installation: "Their history, to be our story" (re-exhibit)

A video installation created based on the interviews from Filipinos at Umeda Catholic Church. Behind thier life stories they told, we will catch a glimpse of cultural differences between Japan and the Philippines, and the two big streams of history which made us encounter.
