Shinji Ohmaki “Memorial Rebirth Senju 2018 Nishiarai”

Genre:
  • Art Project ,
  • Workshop

Senju’s Memorial Rebirth is crossing the Sumida River to Nishiarai.

Art performance “Memorial Rebirth” evokes memories by transforming familiar places and scenes with countless soap bubbles.
“Memorial Rebirth,” which has been held annually in Senju for the last seven years and become a local seasonal institution, is off to a new area for the first time in 2018, its eighth year!
The daytime performance features the event’s customary “Shabon Odori” festival dance. Sing and dance with soap bubbles along to new lyrics created with words and language encountered in Nishiarai, and accompanied by performances by teen bands from all parts. For the evening, teen chorus groups put together for the first time this year will perform a wondrous choral piece “Nishiarai Fantasy — Tsuioku no sazanami (ripples of remembrance).” Voices ebb and flow like the waves of the ocean, while infinite beads of light bubble up and transport us to a sea of memories.
