Wataru Asada “Senju Town Label” Demo Performance Vol. 2

Genre:
  • Art Project ,
  • Others

Sounds and music from the streets are put together and given back to the community. First, listen to the demo.

The Senju Town Label project began in fall 2016.Town recorders (sound and music “reporters”) recruited from the public accompany organizers into the community to collect and record various local sounds, such as the sizzling of the traditional Senju dish“botta”being cooked on a hot plate and the hoarse cries of market traders. They then produce tracks from the material they gather.Through this project, the sounds and music of the streets has been put together and given back to the community through the release of the not-for-sale LP record “Onban Senju Vol. 1 : Each local memory/record”and “Sounds of Senju”events around the community which utilize“Onban Senju”tracks.
This year too, town recorders will put their various viewpoints (soundpoints) into action to collect audio snippets from the streets for the production of tracks for“Onban Senju Vol. 2.”This Demo Performance will introduce tracks produced by town recorders. With live performances and discussions with guests, the event will explore different ways to enjoy sounds and music from the community.Organizers will use the event to talk about the possibilities for Senju Town Label, reviewing the performance event together with project advisors and participants.
