Tokyo Tokyo FESTIVAL promotional event part 2 “The Future is Art”

With just over 500 days to go until the Tokyo Olympic/Paralympic Games, we will hold a promotional event “The Future is Art” at KITTE Atrium on Saturday, March 30. In a bid to get people to experience for themselves the Tokyo Tokyo FESTIVAL tagline “The Future is Art,” we will implement the “Inside Out project IN JAPAN” orchestrated by JR, the street artist whose work is currently in the international spotlight. On the day, a customized Photobooth truck will put in an appearance, and the subsequent large-format photo portraits of people who take part will be assembled and displayed around the KITTE Atrium’s interior. While the venue gradually fills with photos of people’s faces, it will also play host to live singing by leading J-POP group Little Glee Monster, popular with all ages for its members’ singing abilities and live performances. Don’t miss this chance to enjoy Tokyo Tokyo FESTIVAL!

“Inside Out project IN JAPAN”: Projects connecting through art

  • About the Inside Out project
The Inside Out project is an international participatory art project by French artist JR. Since the project began in 2011, more than 300,000 people in over 130 countries have taken part. Everywhere from major cities to conflict zones, large-format facial photos of local people are printed out and pasted up, allowing individuals’ untold stories to be told on the streets. The next Tokyo Tokyo FESTIVAL promotional event will feature the artist’s customized Photobooth truck. Don’t miss experiencing this global-level art project!
