A special event where you can explore the charm of Japanese culture from a Kabuki actor, Japanese literature expert, performer/film director’s perspective.

*Tokyo Tokyo FESTIVAL is an initiative that will see a variety of cultural programs unfold in the run-up to 2020 when the Olympic and Paralympic Games will take place, promoting Tokyo’s appeal as a city of arts and culture.

Program

Opening Act (17:00-)
A dynamic and new-style performance that combines the art of bonsai and shamisen (Japanese guitar)

Performers: Masashi Hirao (Bonsai-shi), JACK & YUJI from the THE SYAMISENIST

Talk & Expression (17:30-)
Using key words of “Traditional and Historical”, speakers will share their perspectives about the charm of Japanese culture.
