We will hold a Tokyo Tokyo FESTIVAL promotional event at Haneda Airport International Passenger Terminal, symbolic gateway to the world. Kabuki actor Ebizo Ichikawa will present the “Ennen-no-mai” dance from the popular kabuki dance-drama “Kanjincho.” In addition there will be an introduction to the city’s cultural projects, with Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike joined by Ebizo Ichikawa and Tokyo Council for the Arts member Mitsuhiro Yoshimoto for a discussion of the cultural appeal of Tokyo from their respective standpoints, and the development of arts and culture projects for 2020.
You can also get a taste of the breadth of Tokyo’s cultural offerings with a stage appearance by a string quartet from the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra.
Starting with this event, we will accelerate the domestic and international dissemination of Tokyo’s artistic and cultural appeal in the run-up to 2020 as “Tokyo Tokyo FESTIVAL.”
*Tokyo Tokyo Festival is an initiative for the development of diverse cultural projects in the run-up to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, in order to promote Tokyo as a city of artistic and cultural attractions.
