Miyakejima University Kids Research Project

The summer-vacation-only "Terakoya" school will be held again this year.

Genre:
  • Kids / Youth ,
  • Art Project ,
  • Workshop

A comprehensive forum for learning will be held for children of Miyakejima, with the aim of promoting exchange between the children and university students. As they research the character of Miyakejima through children’s eyes, participants will not only study but also report their findings while sharing the experience of curiosity and expression. Based on the theme “lessons with correct answers in the morning, lessons without correct answers in the afternoon,” the children will at times become instructors and teach the university students about the island. Thus, the research workshop will be a place for mutual teaching and learning. Those participating in both the morning and afternoon sessions can bring lunches if they like. On the morning of August 18, there will be a presentation in which participants show the results of their efforts!
