For the New Year, Miyakejima University welcomes lecturers from two teams: the Keio University Fumitoshi Kato Laboratory and the Miyakejima Video Project, carrying out “research” functions of the university.

Lectures

■Miyakejima Poster Project “Men at Work”
Keio University Fumitoshi Kato Laboratory has run the Miyakejima Poster Project since 2011. Following last year’s “Proprietress” series, the “Men at Work” posters are now complete. This lecture will unveil these posters, and talk about what went into their making.

■Fumitoshi Kato Laboratory Students Graduation Project
For “Line,” a graduation project from the Kato Laboratory, a student has produced a documentary recording the activities of a boy they encountered on Miyake Island. The lecture will feature a screening of the completed documentary, and a look back by the student at its making.

■Video Workshop “Film a Video Letter”
Following events in October and December, this is the third in the Miyakejima Video Project series.
Participants will film and produce an original video, “To Myself in Seven Years”
