Finding a new world through music – For people of all ages, from infants to adults
This is an education program undertaken in collaboration with the Portuguese music facility Casa da Música, which carries out cutting-edge music dissemination projects in other countries.
We will offer a participatory education program which develops creativity and a spirit of cooperation while providing an opportunity to experience the fun of genre-crossing music.
Workshop Leader Education Program
This program, based on the kind of practical experience that cannot be learned in a classroom setting alone, creates and presents workshops under the guidance of Casa da Música members.
Students whose future potential is recognized in this education program will be sent to Casa da Música (Portugal) as trainees. In addition, members selected as “Tokyo Bunka Kaikan Workshop Leaders” will appear in workshops held in Tokyo Bunka Kaikan and other venues.
Casa da Música
To commemorate Porto’s designation as European Capital of Culture in 2001, Casa da Música was opened in 2005 as the first musical institution in Portugal designed for the purpose of musical creation. In addition to holding festivals and concerts combining a variety of arts and culture, Casa da Música was the first institution in Portugal to undertake large-scale education diffusion projects. In the belief that “music is not only art, but a resource that cultivates richness of spirit in human beings,” it states that the mission of its education programs is to offer fulfilling musical experiences to everyone, and carries out activities rooted in the community and projects in which residents of the city are actively involved.
