Supervision, Revisions: Yuichi Kinoshita

Original Text: Nanboku Tsuruya

Blending a deep knowledge of classical arts with free, modern sensibilities, the young players in the Kinoshita Kabuki troupe inject new blood into the kabuki world with their stirring F/T debut.

This complete, full-length staging of Nanboku Tsuruya’s masterpiece, “Tokaido Yotsuya Kaidan,” features a cast of over 20 actors who depict the time and social climate that gave rise to the tragedy of Oiwa.

Also featuring contributions from Japanese theatre veterans such as former Tenjo Sajiki actress Yoko Ran and stage designer Jiro Shima, this cross-generational project’s ambitions know no bounds!
