The implementation of these projects had been delayed due to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games postponement and the COVID-19 outbreak. However, we have announced that this initiative will undergo a fresh start from spring onwards in 2021. (11/05/2020)
In partnership with Tokyo Metropolitan Government, we will organize these projects forming the Tokyo Tokyo FESTIVAL’s core, which are the result of a public call for proposals that generated a wide range of innovative and creative projects, and projects in which large numbers of people can participate.
Selected from 2,436 submissions from across the globe, these 13 projects collectively known as the Tokyo Tokyo FESTIVAL Special 13 began to be progressively rolled out in 2019, in the run-up to the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
