Three-day event to unfold at the former Million-Za in Senju
While in residence in Senju, artist Mariko Tomomasa is making independent films together with local people.
Initially she and the participants location-scouted in walks around unfamiliar alleys, and lost track of time talking as they got the ingredients together for a “nabe” hotpot party, or held a residential session.
The only rule for the making of these films is that nobody mentions Senju by name. Looking at Senju as an unfamiliar town gives it a new dimension.
Film production is done in teams, and those involved are responsible for the screenplay, filming, editing, music and directing themselves. The completed works will be screened where the movie theater Million-za used to stand. A three day-screening of these new self-crafted movies starts now.
Free (30 for each screening, accepting reservations)
