Discover a whole new world broadening with music across all ages—from infants to adults

Tokyo Bunka Kaikan Music Workshop was created based on our wish for “as many people as possible to come enjoy the wonder of music without making large efforts!” Tokyo Bunka Kaikan Music Workshop is a program with an objective to foster thriving spirits through the development of both communication and self expression skills, via the raising of interest in music and the arts. As a public cultural institute, we wish to provide a comfortable space where people can come together to enjoy music.

“Musica Piccola”
The long-awaited concert is going to be held today! Let’s play fabulous music with the maestro!

[1] 10:30-11:15 (Check-in 10:00-10:20) Age 3-4, 1 companion *Sold out
[2] 12:00-12:45 (Check-in 11:30-11:50) Age 5-8, 1 companion
[3] 14:30-15:15 (Check-in 14:00-14:20) Age 3-8 (for deaf and hard-of-hearing participants), 1 companion (Brief Japanese sign language provided)
* If the tickets for the class [3] remain until Saturday, July 31, hearing persons can also purchase the tickets.

Maximum number of participants: approx. 8 per class

“Workshop Concert—Piano”
Interactive concert by seeing, listening, and experiencing

11:00-12:00 (Open 10:30) 6 months-6 years (Preschool children) with their families and caregivers
* Children under 6 months of age are not admitted. Adults can enter the venue only participating with admitted aged children.

Venue: Tokyo Bunka Kaikan Recital Hall
Workshop Leaders: Karin Furuhashi (Tokyo Bunka Kaikan Workshop Leader), Risako Fukagai (Piano *2nd prize of Piano section at the 9th Tokyo Music Competition)
Music to be performed: MOZART / 12 Variations on “Ah, vous dirai-je Maman” K265 (Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star) and more

To caregivers

Each workshop is prepared only for the admission ages. Small children excluding the admission ages such as participants’ siblings are not allowed to attend the workshop. Your understanding would be highly appreciated.

Please allow enough time on arrival for the security check of your belongings at the entrance.

On participating in workshops

  • The workshop is conducted only in Japanese.
  • It requires some time for event insurance registration (the fee is included in the ticket). Please allow enough time to get into the venue. Late-comers are not allowed to enter once the workshop starts.
  • Check-in booth: Recital Hall, Foyer or Meeting Room on the 4th floor (access from the stage door).
  • Please join with easy-to-move outfits.
  • There are certain movements for a group of one child and one or more companions during some of the workshops. Please note that the staffs cannot assist in case 2 children participate with one companion.
  • The admission ages are determined as of the actual date of the event.
  • Nursing room is available. (only classes for 6 months-6 years)
  • Photography and video recording may occur during the workshop for our publicity materials.
  • The program is subject to change under certain circumstances.
  • Child care service is available. (Reservation and fee required. A limited number of children is accepted.)
