Discover a whole new world broadening with music across all ages—from infants to adults

Tokyo Bunka Kaikan Music Workshop was created based on our wish for “as many people as possible to come enjoy the wonder of music without making large efforts!”
Tokyo Bunka Kaikan Music Workshop is a program with an objective to foster thriving spirits through the development of both communication and self expression skills, via the raising of interest in music and the arts.
As a public cultural institute, we wish to provide a comfortable space where people can come together to enjoy music.

Tora and Shiroko’s story
Let’s plant seeds together with a cat and a mouse and grow them with lovely music!

The Exciting Carnival of Coco and Pepe
¡Hola! Welcome to the lively Latin world! Let’s get ready for the carnival moving to the Latin rhythm with chatty-funny birds, Coco & Pepe!

[1] 10:30-11:15 (Check-in 10:00) 6-18 months, up to 2 companions
[2] 12:00-12:45 (Check-in 11:30) Age 3-6 (pre-school children), 1 companion

Workshop Concert— Wind Quintet & Ballet Music
Interactive concert by seeing, listening, and experiencing

14:00-15:00 (Check-in 13:30) 6 months-6 years (Pre-school children) with their families and caregivers
* Children under 6 months of age are not admitted. Adults can enter the venue only participating with admitted aged children.

Artists: SAKURAI Shiori (Tokyo Bunka Kaikan Workshop Leader), TAKUWA Reiko (Flute *2nd prize of Wind section at the 11th Tokyo Music Competition), SOEDA Shinnosuke (Oboe *2nd prize and Audience Award of Wind section at the 13th Tokyo Music Competition), SUDO Yuki (Clarinet), YANO Kenta (Horn), ISHII Nonoka (Bassoom)

To caregivers

Each workshop is prepared only for the admission ages. Small children excluding the admission ages such as participants’ siblings are not allowed to attend the workshop. Your understanding would be highly appreciated.

Notice to all workshop attendees

  • This workshop is conducted only in Japanese.
  • It requires some time for event insurance registration (the fee is included in the ticket). Please allow enough time to get into the venue.
  • Companions are required to participate in the workshop.
  • Photography and video recording may occur during the workshop for our publicity materials.
  • Nursing room is available. (only classes for 6-18 months, 19-35 months)
  • The admission ages are determined as of the actual date of the event.
  • Please join with easy-to-move outfits.
  • Late-comers are not allowed to enter once the workshop starts. Please allow enough time to get into the venue.
  • There are certain movements for a group of one child and one or more companions during some of the workshops. Please note that the staffs cannot assist in case 2 children participate with one companion.
  • The program is subject to change under certain circumstances.
  • Child care service is available. (Reservation and fee required. A limited number of children is accepted.)

Prices: 300yen Advance application required.
* Companions (Middle school students or older) are required to pay the participation fee.
* The participants must pay the fee at the venue on the workshop day.

Application deadline
Monday, January 3 2022
* The application acceptance/rejection notice will be sent during Wednesday, January 5 – Friday, January 7. Participants will be determined by lot if the number of application exceeds the limit. If there is a remaining number of participants, the day tickets will go on sale.

* Your seat number will be assigned at the reception on the day of the performance. Please note that participants cannot select the seat. If you join as a group, please come to the reception with the full members of the group.
